If you wish to work on a construction site in Queensland, you must complete a certified training course to obtain a White Card before you will be allowed to enter a work site. The Work Safely in the Construction Industry course is available through classroom-based learning or online learning. It usually takes less than one day to complete.

AGED CARE
Care workers often work in public or private hospitals/facilities where they receive on the job training. Workers in personal and aged care do not require registration or qualifications in Queensland. HOSPITALITY
The Queensland hospitality industry is a fun, fast paced and rewarding area to work in. Working Holiday Makers can find work in many hotels, restaurants and bars across Queensland. If you wish to work at a bar, pub or club, or in any position that serves alcohol, a Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification is required. The qualification is valid only for the state that it is obtained in and costs around $75.

GAMBLING
If you wish to work in any position involving poker machines or other gambling facilities, you will need to obtain a Responsible Service of Gambling qualification to legally obtain employment. The course costs around $75.

CHILD CARE
If you want to work with children (any person under the age of 18) then you must obtain a Queensland Government issued Blue Card. The Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian will conduct a ‘Working with Children Check’ and determine your eligibility to work with children.
