Your room
In Australian homes some children have their own rooms, while others might share a room with a brother or sister. As a Homestay student you will have your own room and you will be responsible for keeping your room clean and reasonably tidy.
Bedroom doors are often left open during the day, but of course if you are getting dressed, sleeping, or feeling like some privacy and quiet time, it’s alright to close your door.
If you have any particularly valuables items such as jewellery or money you may want to talk to your host family about a secure place in the house where you can keep these things.
Keeping your house secure is up to each family member. For more information about keeping your home secure, click here.
